Counterpoint finds the perspectives that matter.
Describe what is happening in your own words. Counterpoint identifies the mechanisms, goals, values, constraints, and uncertainty underneath it, then selects distinct advisors whose frameworks add something meaningfully different. It compares where those perspectives agree, where they conflict, and what that means for your next move.
Building your Counterpoint
Your Perspectives
Selected specifically for this problem.

Add new information, ask a follow-up, challenge the analysis, or add another advisor.
Different problems call for different perspectives.
Counterpoint selects advisors for the specific problem in front of it. Each perspective needs a distinct job in the analysis, and overlapping lenses are filtered out so the result does not become repetitive.
My Counterpoints
How Counterpoint builds a structured analysis.
Counterpoint starts with the situation itself. It identifies the mechanisms, goals, values, constraints, and important uncertainty underneath the problem, then selects five to seven distinct perspectives that each contribute something different.
Why five to seven perspectives?
Five to seven is usually enough to create meaningful perspective diversity while keeping the analysis coherent. When two advisors would contribute essentially the same lens, Counterpoint favors the stronger fit.
How perspectives are selected
Counterpoint weighs domain expertise, fit with the underlying mechanism, the user's goal, relevant values or traditions, contextual fit, and whether each perspective adds something genuinely different.
The Skeptic tests the interpretation
The Skeptic examines what is known, what is inferred, what may be missing, how another involved person might describe the same situation, and what new information could materially change the conclusion.
The Contrarian tests the recommendation
After a preliminary recommendation forms, the Contrarian builds the strongest credible case against it, including competing values, unintended consequences, alternate interpretations, and overlooked risks.
Understand first, advise second
Counterpoint first works to understand what is happening, what remains uncertain, and which needs or values are genuinely in tension. Recommendations come after that analysis, with confidence calibrated to the available information.
